Turkey’s Deputy Prime Minister has tied together a lot of standard anti-Semitic themes to explain his country’s anti-government protests. The Hurriyet daily writes:
Foreign powers and the Jewish diaspora have triggered the unrest in Turkey and worked effectively to boost it, says the minister, Besir Atalay.
Quite right, Mr Atalay. Because of your government’s anti-Israel policy, many thousands of Jews and Israelis have stopped holidaying and spending their money in Antalya, thus devastating the local economy. You might say your policy is a bit of a….turkey!
