My Mideast Punchlines: my enemy’s enemy…

Hezbollah’s Sheikh Hassan Nasrallah has warned of war if the Iran nuclear talks collapse. This puts him in the same corner as that other paragon of virtue, President Barack Hussain Obama. Strange bedfellows indeed.

Small FistAnd there I was always believing that it was only the French who represented invertebrates among the great powers. Meanwhile, all the US-generated talk of appeasement has led to a realignment of Realpolitik whereby the Saudis, Kuwaitis, Qataris and other Gulf nations are looking to their traditional enemy, the Israelis, to protect their security interests. Not surprising when one is aware of a favourite Arab mantra: my enemy’s enemy is my friend.
