Czech police have discovered a large cache of weapons at the Prague residence of the late Palestinian ambassador. Police spokeswoman Andrea Zoulova confirmed that arms had been found in the ambassador’s residence, which is located within the newly constructed Palestinian Embassy complex. According to TV reports, the stockpile included heavy firearms, that it was held illegally, and that its existence had not been known previously to Czech authorities. The ambassador, Jamel al-Jamal was killed Wednesday when a safe at his home exploded.
Gives new meaning to the word ‘safe’. The PA will have to bite the bullet on this one. It’s amazing what you can fit into those unassailable diplomatic pouches. Rumour has it that besides the usual machine guns and Kalashnikovs, Palestinian diplomats have apparently tried to smuggle through customs an Antonov An-225 military cargo plane and and a recently exhumed World War Two Japanese aircraft carrier. They almost succeeded until a sharp-eyed customs officer pointed out that the Czech Republic is landlocked.
