The British Parliament has formed a committee of enquiry to probe the flow of funds used by the international refugee agency UNRWA to support the Palestinians, according to reports. The British government contributes 90 million pounds annually in aid to the Palestinians. A third of that sum is earmarked for UNRWA – the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian refugees.
Well, the first thing they should do is check the personal bank accounts of the Palestinian leadership. I’d be terribly upset if my taxes were going to people who have been ‘refugees’ for more than sixty years; that is, kept in squalid camps and used as political pawns by their Arabs leaders (aided and abetted by the UN, of course). No, as a caring middle-class Brit, I’d much rather my hard earned cash be used to buy a yacht or a villa for Hamas and PA functionaries. UNRWA is probably the greatest fraud in history. Practically a whole people living on handouts for more than half a century. Whatever happened to the idea of self-reliance?No need to worry, it’s still alive and well – in Israel.
