Europe should apply a double standard to Israel when judging its actions compared to other Middle Eastern nations, Danish Ambassador Jesper Vahr said on Thursday, causing sparks to fly at the Jerusalem Post Diplomatic Conference in the capital.
“Israel should insist that we discriminate, that we apply double standards, this is because you are one of us,” Vahr said during a panel discussion on relations between Israel and Europe.

I suggest Jesper gets astride his Vespa and tootles on back to his ambassadorial villa in Herzliyah Pituach. What he said was closer to chutzpah than condescension. When (not if) there is an attempt to take over Denmark by knife-wielding Jihadi Johans, we will gladly act as good Europeans by roundly condemning the effrontery of the indigenous Scandinavian peoples in trying to protect their culture. Meanwhile, Mr Vahr, you Danes might be famous for your pastry, but take a word of advice from an old Cockney realist, and kindly keep your cake-hole shut, mate!
