While Palestinians in the West Bank boycott Israeli products, Gazans are happily purchasing Israeli foods, drinks, dairy, and snacks. The strip’s factories are unable to produce necessities, and Hamas can’t rely on the old tunnel economy anymore. West Bank activists aren’t happy about it.
Firstly, let’s get our priorities right. If you were a Gazan who had to choose between open tunnels facilitating the import of inedible Egyptian snacks (along with the odd bomb or two) or Bamba (an Israeli peanut snack), then it’s obviously a no-contest. Secondly, anyone who has ever eaten Bamba becomes hooked instantly (unless you have a severe peanut allergy, in which case you become dead instantly). It is to be hoped that Hamas leaders and gunmen with a serious nut allergy will find Bamba irresistible.
