Two Palestinian boys — both eight-years-old — were caught with knives outside Migdal Oz, a settlement just south of Jerusalem. The kids told police they were sent to carry out a terror attack. Times of Israel coverage.
Brings back memories of when in 1970 I was sent to cover boys being enlisted in Gaza to throw grenades at passing Israeli military vehicles. The difference between then and now? Back then, the boys deliberately missed their targets and did a quick runner in order to avoid possible lethal reprisals. The big problem was that innocent Palestinian bystanders tended to get blown up instead, which rather defeated the object. I suppose today it would be called ‘friendly fire’.
